Tsaritsa remains a clear and resounding $2.80 favourite in 2016 Queensland Guineas betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Too Good To Refuse, Tivaci and Sold For Song; all sharing the second line at generous $9.50 odds.

Will Tsaritsa justify favouritism and win the 2016 Queensland Guineas, or will one of her talented rivals post an upset?

1st

Tivaci ($9.50)

Tivaci has posted a number of good results through a short racing career so far and is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from a first-up run for fourth in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1350m) three weeks ago. Claiming a total of three wins and two minors through ten competitive starts, the High Chaparral colt resumed this year for success in a Pakenham minor over 1200m before beating a classy field including subsequent Group 1 winner Palentino to the line in the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m). While failing to fire in his next two starts, the three-year-old has clearly taken good benefit from a freshen-up and is drawn ideally for success in the Queensland Guineas in barrier 6.

2nd

Tsaritsa ($2.80)

Tsaritsa is yet to make an appearance amongst black type company, but carries excellent form into the Queensland Guineas and is primed to lay a typically good account for herself. Returning to the paddock for a spell after finishing second in the Café Culture + Insitu BM67 (1400m) on January 20th, the Dane Shadow filly is yet to taste anything but success this time having posted consecutive wins in the Schweppes Bm67 (1250m) and Pat Hyland BM75 (1400m) leading into the Queensland Guineas. Joao Moreira takes the ride on Tsaritsa, but the filly will require luck in running from the somewhat awkward barrier 12.

3rd

Mr Individual ($21)

Mr Individual is capable of beating talented fields on his day, and the colt is extremely well placed in the 2016 Queensland Guineas. Stamping himself as one to watch off the back of a number of commendable performances through the 2015 Spring Carnival, Mr Individual clearly required a run when eleventh in the Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) first-up but ran on well for fourth in the Le Pine Funerals Handicap (1400m) a fortnight ago. Trainers Leon and Troy Corstens have a big opinion of the son of Starspangledbanner and he should prove tough to beat from barrier 7, with champion hoop Damien Oliver in the saddle.
